JOB LOCATION: LEER MINE COMPLEX-GRAFTON, WV

JOB TITLE: UNDERGROUND BELT EXAMINER II

 JOB SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Fill out pre-shift and on-shift belt examination books.
• Conduct pre-shift and on-shift certified examinations (fire bossing) for: all conveyor belt lines, belt transfer points and belt haulage ways; daily pre-shift/on-shift exams of actively working or idled sections or other areas as needed; other areas mandated by state and federal laws and regulations as required (weekly, monthly).
• Conduct physical inspection of mine conveyor belts and structure, repair/replace belts and structure, shovel and apply rock dust either manually or with a rock dusting machine along all belt lines and around belt transfer points, service and grease belt structure, drives and take ups.
• Perform a wide variety of duties including, but not limited to, relieving (spelling out, substituting for) face equipment operators, constructing/maintaining temporary and permanent ventilation controls, maintenance servicing of continuous mining machine, loading and hauling supplies/materials from surface to underground and vice versa, etc.
• Conduct all work activities in compliance with Federal and State coal mining laws and Company policies, procedures, rules and regulations. 
• GENERAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: The employee must be able to follow specific instructions while maintaining acceptable established standards of work performance and conduct, show the necessary and consistent energy, as well as acceptable mental and physical dexterity, for the satisfactory completion of the essential duties as summarized and defined. The employee must exhibit acceptable interpersonal skills and the continuous ability to work in a team oriented atmosphere.
