Dispatcher

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

To maintain constant communication through-out mine. This position is a very important link between the Shift Supervisor and all underground personnel, as well as mine management. Participates in the safe and efficient operation of the mine.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Safe direction of all underground track equipment
• Monitor locations of all employees in the mine in case of emergency
• Maintain constant communication with all production and construction units throughout the mine
• Compiles Production Delay Reports to Mine Management
• Maintain constant watch on CO levels through-out the mine and determine the proper actions needed when abnormal readings occur
• Keep records of locations of CO sensors and logs all sensor activity
• Maintain communications with security
• Key Link in communication chain with outside world in case of any underground emergency utilizing Leer Mine Complex Emergency Preparedness Plan
• Answer incoming telephone calls when mine office is unoccupied
• Track conditions of all production units and equipment downtime, etc.
• Knowledge and use of the control view computer which includes:
• Starting and stopping of belts
• Monitor silo level
• Monitor water tank levels and starting of pumps as needed
• Monitor breaker settings
• Monitor motor amps of belt head motors and fans
• Acknowledge computer faults at belt heads

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
• Experienced West Virginia Black Hat
• Emergency Medical Technician Certification preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:

•  Good Working knowledge of underground track systems
• Must have good verbal skills
• Must be able to think clearly during emergency situations
